Inspired by the Dutch city of Rotterdam’s amount - and quality of public spaces, Xuvia is a Mixed Use, functional City Hub which lies in the centre of Manchester, in the UK. Internet cafes, functional parks, and fun seating areas to socialise, work and relax made Rotterdam unique and people focused - something I believe the UK is in dire need of in its city centres. This is why we need a place like Xuvia.
The importance of human interactions, productivity, sustainability and wellbeing overrides everything else here - just like those modern, forward thinking cities you see on holiday. Think of Xuvia as a ‘little city’ - or, in other words, ‘your city hub’; a place for everybody.
Fitting into a modern urban society both aesthetically and functionally, the openness and fluidity of the space makes Xuvia multipurpose - whether you want to study, relax, or socialise.
in this project, I explore vulnerability and the human form - whilst challenging the stigma of gender roles and identities of men and woman as subjects in photography. Testing the way we look at identity and rules on gender to encourage celebration of those outside stereotypes and normalities.
I try to juxtapose societal views regarding sexuality, power and nudity - those of which result in the naked male form fading into a social taboo, whilst on the other hand, the female form becoming fetishised and exploited by men.
Vulnerability and fragility is a pure, innocent thing that we should embrace, regardless of your identity.
