A high vantage point dramatically changes the feel of the photograph; here we have a slightly eerie perspective of the scene. It is almost as if we are watching over the model, as they sit there uncomfortably.
In this photograph, there is a clear contrast between light and dark, created by shadows and light together.
Furthermore, the use of negative space in this image not only emphasises the subject, but the space around it. The torso of the model appears to be shrouded in darkness, the viewers eyes drawn to this as the shadows defines the figure in the centre.
Leading lines are a prominent influence of this photograph. These direct the viewers attention to specific points of the image, here being the chin and jawline of the model.

development:
distortion and layering
For my first development, I played around with layering, distortion and filters to create weird and unique shapes. My aim was to produce almost disturbing images; body parts contorted together, with the viewers perspective being different for each individual.
development: simple illustration and texture
For this development, I was able to have a greater control over the effect of the photograph onto the viewer by adding illustration and texture. I wanted to emphasise a dark, moody theme and I did this with simple colour and lettering.

I further developmed my layered photographs (see Development 1 above) using this technique and I found it had a more textured and better look with more and more layers added.
