cropping and softening
CROPPED
SOFTENED
I then edited these cropped images to create a softer photograph, which is similar to what Ashvini Ray does to her work. The result is a gentler version of the original photo.
For my first development, I chose to crop my levelled selected images. I really wanted to emphasise the intricacy and detail in each organic form; stimulating our perspectives of the skin and hair. The human surface is somewhat presented as a landscape - its surface being what we are essentially made of.

PHOTOSHOOT 2
I wanted to develop my second stage by further exploring human skin and playing around with light, contrast and texture. I used a low resolution torch lens to create 'lower quality' yet still interesting images. I then selected my favourites and used Lightroom to enhance them.

Using Illustrator, I traced over the lines and dettails of a few of my Stage 2 Photos. The result were beautiful patterns - where we could see repetition, symmetry and intricacy, within our skin cells.
